Ohio Power Siting Board Permit Application
On January 31, 2019, as supplemented on March 18, 2019, April 11, 2019, July 10, 2019, and September 12, 2019, Firelands Wind, LLC (“Applicant”) filed an application with the Ohio Power Siting Board (“Board”) for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need to Construct a Wind-Powered Electric Generation Facility in Huron and Erie Counties, Ohio (“Application”) for the Emerson Creek Wind Farm. On October 28, 2021, as supplemented on March 20, 2023 and July 26, 2023 an Amendment to the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity issued by the Ohio Power Siting Board was filed. On April 28, 2025, a Third Amendment to the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity issued by the Ohio Power Siting Board was filed. The Third Amendment shifts the location of the originally proposed permanent meteorological towers and adds the ability to use LIDAR facilities. The Third Amendment also includes minor modifications and engineering-level shifts to collection lines and access roads. These shifts do not result in any substantial change in impacts from the Certificated Layout. This Amendment was approved on June 26, 2025.
On June 18, 2025, a Fourth Amendment to the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity issued by the Ohio Power Siting Board was filed. The Fourth Amendment includes temporary turning radii for component delivery and the addition of a welcome center. These changes do not result in any substantial change in impacts from the Certificated Layout. This amendment was approved on September 18, 2025
