Notice - Temporary Staging Area Application

Notice of Proposed Major Utility Facility

Firelands Wind, LLC (Firelands Wind) filed a letter of notification with the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) (Case No. 26-766-EL-BLN) to include a temporary staging area in Lyme Township, Huron County, Ohio that will primarily be used for the transmission line facility (Facility) that was approved by the Board in Case No. 19-1073-EL-BTX. The general purpose of the Facility is to deliver electricity generated by the Firelands Wind generation project approved by the OPSB in Case No. 18-1607-EL-BGN. It is anticipated that the temporary staging area will be used as soon as August 2026, once the application is approved. 
The following officials have received electronic copies of the accepted complete application filed with the OPSB: Huron County Commissioners; Lyme Township Trustees; Huron County Engineer; and Bellevue City Council.  In addition, the following libraries were sent an electronic copy of the application: Bellevue Public Library, 224 E. Main St., Bellevue, OH 44811; and Huron County Library, 6 W. Emerald St., Willard, OH 44890.  

A copy of the application is also available for inspection at the OPSB offices, 180 E. Broad St., 11th floor, Columbus, OH 43215, 1-866-270-6772, and is available on the OPSB website at dis.puc.state.oh.us/CaseRecord.aspx?CaseNo=26-766&x=0&y=0. Interested persons may file comments and/or motions to intervene with the OPSB within 10 days of this publication, in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code Rule 4906-2-12.
